CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Brad Keselowski admits that one of his dreams as a kid was to be president of the United States.I think its a very American thing to dream for, dont you? Keselowski said. Its like [dreams of] being an astronaut, a fireman or being the president.A driver known to have an opinion -- and whose opinion might be viewed through a different prism than many in the garage -- Keselowski said he hasnt seriously thought about becoming a politician once he hangs up his firesuit. The Team Penske driver wouldnt say in a recent sit-down with reporters just how he would vote in the upcoming presidential election, only that he is not happy with the current election vibe.I would be sad if I was in a debate like was on the other night, Keselowski said about Sundays presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I would be very sad. I would not relish that. If I was in a real debate about real issues, I would relish it.In reality, if Keselowski likes politics, hes in a fine place. Navigating the politics of NASCAR can be rough, and Keselowski now has a little bit bigger voice since being selected by his fellow drivers as one of the members on the Sprint Cup drivers council. The nine-member council was launched in May 2015 as a way for NASCAR executives to have better dialogue with drivers. The top driver from each manufacturer gets a spot on the council the following year, with the rest elected by their peers to have a mix of past champions, new drivers and drivers from throughout the standings. Drivers on the council this year are Keselowski, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.The drivers will lose one of their biggest voices after Stewart retires following this season. Stewart and Jeff Gordon could be vocal with their opinions with the media, and their opinions could carry a lot of weight. Other drivers, for fear of not wanting to upset their teams or sponsors or just not wanting to have to deal with the fallout, appear more inclined to sidestep issues.Im tired of being responsible for it, Stewart said. Its somebody elses responsibility now. Ive had my fill of fighting the fight. At some point you have to say, Why do I keep fighting this fight when Im not getting anywhere? Its extremely exhausting.Could Keselowski pick up that role? Does he want that role?Keselowski said that with the emergence of thee drivers council in the past two years as well as a technical council made up of one team technical director from each manufacturer, NASCAR has much more open dialogue now than when drivers needed to use the media to have a voice. Don Mattingly Jersey. onys right -- its not easy being the driver that has to step up and say things, Keselowski said. I would say that if you check the books at the NASCAR Foundation, I have made enough donations [by paying NASCAR fines] as well to maybe have the right to say that. But Id really like to see the forums and formats that there are to have an active dialogue in the sport and have that opportunity. If those fail, then somebody needs to be the jerk. If I get anointed that, Im fine. The drivers council has met with NASCAR three times this year and also has met with Speedway Motorsports Inc. executives. It has one more meeting left this season with NASCAR.Weve made a lot more progress as a sport, at least behind the scenes, collaborating or moving forward where the need to have conversations through the media has not gone away but certainly been dramatically reduced in my mind, Keselowski said. Im very thankful and happy for that. The councils often discuss big-picture items rather than go over recent NASCAR decisions. For instance, the drivers council more likely would talk about potential ways to reward the regular-season champion rather than going over specifics like whether NASCAR was right to retroactively set rules for the race at Chicagoland and not penalize Martin Truex Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. The council is, in my opinion, is ... something that wants to look forward and wants to try to help divert problems instead of create problems, said Harvick.Keselowski said the drivers are so focused on the Chase this time of year that they arent thinking too much about the health of the sport at the moment. Theyre thinking about winning another trophy.Everybodys so focused on [the] championship and Chase and all that -- sometimes we lose vision outside of our own implicit needs, said Keselowski, who sits fourth in the Chase standings. Which is good and bad -- its good for our teams, maybe not great for the sport.I dont think there is any one emergency hot-button item coming up that we need to look at, but there is still a lot of stuff to work on. Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw still absolutely adores practice, and she always will. It appeals to the puzzle-solving side of her, and how she enjoys the process of finding the right answers.I went up to Michigan and spent some time with [Michigan mens coach] John Beilein, and it was like Christmas, said McGraw, whose Irish host No. 1 UConn on Wednesday (ESPN2, 7 p.m. ET). We had two hours, talking about the 1-3-1. I just love it. Ill watch YouTube videos about zone offense. Ill play with the sugar packets at lunch, lining them up. I cant wait for practice; its my favorite part of the day.And while they diverge in personality in some key ways, McGraw shares this trait with UConn coach Geno Auriemma. He might not express it the same way -- Hey, I LOVE practice! -- and has talked about how important a presence associate head coach Chris Dailey is, because shes still such a stickler for details. But the truth is, Auriemma is a stickler, too, and if you ever watch him conduct a practice, youll see that. He doesnt miss anything and still really enjoys teaching basketball. This all speaks to why the UConn-Notre Dame matchups have been so compelling the past several years. And why everyone is looking forward to this seasons rendition Wednesday in South Bend, Indiana. The Huskies, coming off four NCAA titles and riding a 82-game winning streak, have moved back to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll, with Notre Dame at No. 2. The Fighting Irish started the season at No. 1 in the AP top 25 and have dropped despite not losing a game. They are 8-0 and UConn is 7-0; the Irish have beaten one ranked team thus far (Washington), the Huskies four (Florida State, Baylor, DePaul and Texas). It appears, based on the poll numbers, that when then-No. 3 South Carolina lost to Duke on Sunday, those voters who had the Gamecocks at No. 1 switched their votes to the Huskies. And at least one moved from the Irish to the Huskies. So this week, UConn -- which was espnWs No. 1 team in the preseason -- has 18 first-place votes to Notre Dames 15.These are the kinds of details, though, that are unimportant to Auriemma and McGraw. They are tuned into exactly how their teams are playing and what they need to improve. But even as the personnel changes for UConn and Notre Dame, their performances remain high quality. Its going to be fun the next couple of days preparing, Auriemma said after UConns victory over Texas on Sunday. Thats still one of my favorite things to do: prepare for good teams, especially on the road. The Huskies and the Irish are smart squads, always. Their coaches expect them to learn to think for themselves. Sure, Auriemma will make the usual wisecracks about a certain Huskies player not making a good pass all season, or another who moves too fast for her mind to keep up, etc. It has long been part of his shtick, and it works. He recruits players who understand the method and see how consistently it produces results.Auriemma and his assistants have excelled for decades now at recruiting the right fits for the UConn program. And its something that Notre Dame has refined, too.The Irish always have reflected McGraw: scrappy, intelligent, tough and a bit on the reserved side. They won the 2001 NCAA championship with a team that had each starter essentially personifying the most important traits of the position she played, from point guard to center.Yet even after that championship, the Irish retained an underdog mentality. That changed when guard Skylar Diggins stayed home in South Bend, Indiana, to play for the Irish from 2010 to 13.McGraw has talked about that a lot: how the overall confidence level of the program elevated. Notre Dame trails in the series 34-11, but had a stretch from April 2011 to March 13 -- the arc of Diggins career -- when the Irish beat the Huskies in seven of eight meetings.Unfortunately for the Irish, that didnt result in an NCAA title, and theyve lost their subsequent five meetings with UConn. Three of those came at the Final Four: in 2013 (semifinals), 14 (final), and 15 (final).Yet overall, the tone of the UConn-Notre Dame rivalry clearly was altered during Diggins time with the Irish -- in a good way, even if its been a bit testy. The programs dont reallly like each other, but there is mutual respect. Trey Griffey Jersey. They both recognize the best qualities that each one of them brings to college sports in general, and womens basketball specifically.Auriemma can get on McGraws nerves, just as he used to with Tennessees Pat Summitt, although for different reasons. Summitt had a certain Southern decorum that typically didnt mesh that well with Auriemmas humorous Philly-style verbal sparring. (And, of course, they also had some heated recruiting battles.)McGraw, by contrast, is from the Philadelphia area, too, and understands exactly what Auriemma is doing. She just generally doesnt prefer to engage. To some degree, Auriemma has mellowed, as cliché as that sounds. He was moved to tears at the Final Four last April, reflecting on how much his team and coaches meant to him, and showed the real person underneath the clever wisecracks. The one his players remain devoted to long after they leave Storrs. He also sincerely was affected by Summitts struggle with Alzheimers disease and her death this past summer. But not only has Auriemma maintained his mastery of coaching basketball, he continues to somehow get even better. There are plenty of very good players who dont go to UConn, and several talented, motivated coaches out there. And yet, here Auriemma is at No. 1 again a year after losing the top three picks in the WNBA draft -- including Breanna Stewart, one of the best players in the history of college basketball. With Katie Lou Samuelson (19.1 PPG) and Napheesa Collier (19.0 PPG), the Huskies have sophomores who played their parts well as understudies last year. Auriemma wasnt sure how they or the other Huskies returners, including Kia Nurse (13.9 PPG) and Gabby Williams (10.3 PPG), would respond to having to carry the weight with Stewart, Moriah Jefferson and Morgan Tuck gone.So far, though, they havent missed a beat. UConn might have some concerns in how they handle opponents with a lot of size, but theyre also great at finding answers. The Irish have become particularly adept at recruiting and developing dynamic guards, and building around them. Sophomore Arike Ogunbowale leads the team in scoring (17.5 PPG). A lot of eyes also will be on Marina Mabrey (13.8 PPG), a sophomore who had 23 points at UConn last season, and freshman Jackie Young (10.2 PPG), who has a sky-high ceiling. This is also a big game for senior point guard Lindsay Allen (8.8 PPG, 7.5 APG) and junior forward Brianna Turner (13.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG). The rankings dont mean anything, really -- but it probably is a little motivating that the Irish fell to No. 2 despite being unbeaten.Wednesdays game is also a chance for the Notre Dame faithful to roar. The Irish crowd always gets up for facing UConn, and its become a consistently strong fan base for womens basketball. Notre Dame is averaging 8,037 per game this season at Purcell Pavilion, which has a capacity of 9,149.I would think its going to be a high level of intensity and energy in the crowd and in their team, Auriemma said. Were going to have to match that. Theyre deep, they have a lot of players. Were not so much right now.Five of the Huskies next six games are on the road, with three in the Midwest. Following Notre Dame, the Huskies go to Kansas State on Dec. 11. They return to Hartford, Connecticut, for Ohio State on Dec. 19, then play at Nebraska on Dec. 21.UConns second-to-last nonconference game is at Maryland on Dec. 29. The Huskies start the American Athletic Conference season at Central Florida on Jan. 1. Their only nonleague game after that is Feb. 13, when South Carolina visits Connecticut.Considering the Huskies domination of the American conference, these remaining games in December are all the more intriguing. UConn is nine victories away from breaking its own 90-game winning streak, and getting past Notre Dame obviously is the biggest hurdle remaining, along with the No. 4 Terps. So there is a lot on the line Wednesday, even as early as it is in the season. Its a matchup that has stood out on the schedule every year now, and thats a tribute to both programs. LOS ANGELES -- The Tampa Bay Rays would like to end their West Coast swing on a high note. Ryquell Armstead Jersey . Theyve endured plenty of low blows during stops in Oakland and Los Angeles.Rays lefty Matt Moore (6-7, 4.31 ERA) will face Dodgers righty Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 1.61 ERA) as Tampa Bay tries to snap a four-game skid in the series finale between the two clubs on Wednesday.Tuesdays 3-2 defeat by the Dodgers was the latest setback in some close games. That loss comes on the heels of three consecutive ones to the As, two of those coming in walk-off fashion.Against the Dodgers, the Rays got a solid outing from Chris Archer. However, Yasmani Grandals solo home run in the seventh inning was the difference.(Grandal) has been unbelievable, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. Hes obviously swinging the bat a lot better. Hes having better at-bats. Again, the big homer tonight. And behind the plate hes been great.Grandals blast was one of the few blemishes on Archer, who Rays manager Kevin Cash believed had his best stuff. It was a good outing but we lost the game, so its hard to look at it from a personal standpoint on how well I did whenever theres some things I could have done better obviously, said Archer, who has gone six or more innings in 11 of his last 12 starts. I want to fill the strike zone but I want to win more. Thats the only thing Im really thinking about now.Yeah, I pitched well, and we played great baseball but I wish I could have done a little better to win.Los Angeles got a stronger performance from Norris, who blanked the Rays for 6 1/3 innings, striking out six and allowing just two hits with two walks (one intentional). Norris (6-9) also recorded his 1,000th strikeout during the win, striking out Kevin Kiermaier in the fourth. Its just a testament of how hard Ive worked in my career, and this isnt easy for any of us, I promise you, said Norris, who is 3-2 with a 4.40 ERA in six games with the Dodgers since coming over in a trade with the Atlanta Braves.Although the two clubs split a two-game series at Tropicana Field in Tampa on May 3-4, the Rays are still looking for their first win at Dodger Stadium. They were swept in a three-game set in August 2013, the only other time theyve played here. The Rays have played regular-season games in 41 parks, but Dodger Stadium is the only one theyve failed to capture a win. Overall, they are 4-8 all-time against Los Angeles. The Rays also have never homered here either. They might have trouble doing so against McCarthy, who has pitched well since returning from Tommy John surgery. McCarthy last faced the Rays on Sept. 17, 2014 as a member of the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits in seven innings and earning the win in the Yankees 3-2 victory. He struck out four and walked one on 91 pitches. In 12 career appearances (11 starts) against Tampa Bay, McCarthy has a 2.88 ERA with 52 strikeouts against 19 walks.Moore has gone at least six innings in nine straight starts, the longest run of his career. However, he served up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings on May 3 in a 10-5 win by Los Angeles. Leon Jacobs Jersey . The U.S. wrestler and retired mixed martial artist says he was visiting his brothers farm in Saskatchewan and decided he wanted to hear what the premier had to say. CARMEL, Ind. -- Ricky Elliott always hoped he could be in the Ryder Cup, the dream of any aspiring golfer from Portrush in Northern Ireland. He finally got there as a caddie, which is not unusual.Except that hell be working for the other team.Ill be getting plenty of good needle, but its all in good fun, said Elliott, the caddie for American player Brooks Koepka for the last three years. Whenever Im out here, I stay with Kenny (Comboy), Billy (Foster) and all the other European caddies because we have the same things in common. I still am European. When it comes down to the matches, might they be a little wary in the team meeting? You just dont know. But its all about getting the cup back to this side of the pond. And Im working for the American team. The Ryder Cup is all about the flag, Europe against the United States, three days of frenetic golf and fanatical cheering. The PGA of America only began keeping records of Ryder Cup caddies in 1995, and no European caddie worked for the American team in the last two decades. The last European caddie to work for a U.S. player might have been Brian Bellenger of England, who caddied for Bill Rogers in 1981 at The Belfry. Bellenger, who died last year, holds the unique distinction of working on the winning side of both teams. He also worked for Ken Brown when Europe won in 1985.There are more stories of Europeans who didnt work.Terry Holt of England worked for Paul Azinger in 1993, but chose not to go with him to the Ryder Cup at The Belfry. Dave Musgrove of England declined to work for Lee Janzen in 1997 at Valderrama, fearing a conflict in interest. He didnt want to be in a bad situation. People might wonder about his loyalties, Janzen said then. The most recent example was Andy Sutton, the English caddie whom Ben Curtis hired when he won the British Open at Royal St. Georges. Curtis qualified for the Ryder Cup in 2008 at Valhalla, and Sutton didnt want to work for him that week.We had talked about it in the past and he said, `If you ever make the Ryder Cup, I cant work for you, Curtis said. When it came about, I remember saying to him, `Are you serious? He said: `I cant. Ill catch too much grief from the other European caddies. He decided it might be better for me to have someone else.Curtis hired Tony Navarro for the week. He said years later, Sutton regretted not working for him at the Ryder Cup.Whats in store for Elliott?I have no worries about him, said John Wood, who caddies for Matt Kuchar and will be working at his sixth Ryder Cup. There might be some out there I would be concerned about, but not Ricky. I think hell jump right into the feel of the team and be part of it. I think it would be difficult if you had somebody who had been on a European Ryder Cup teaam and then came into the U. Terrelle Pryor Sr. Jersey. S. room. But for Ricky, it will be a fresh experience for him. There have been examples of American caddies working for European players in the Ryder Cup -- Jerry Higginbotham for Sergio Garcia in 1999, and Lance Ten Broeck for Jesper Parnevik in 1999 and 2002.It was kind of weird in the beginning, Ten Broeck said. I remember I was kind of concerned about doing it, but the more I spoke to Hal Sutton, he said: `Why wouldnt you do it? Thats who you work for. And I spoke to Jesper about it a long time. This is a golf match, not a war. And its one of the great experiences.Elliott played college golf at Toledo, competing against Curtis at Kent State, and stayed in America. He lives in Florida near Graeme McDowell, one of his best friends from Portrush, and decided last year to become a U.S. citizen.I had to say a sentence in English and I had to spell a word, and I just squeaked by that, Elliott said in his sing-song Irish lilt. There was about 80 of us in the room and 2,000 people had come to watch. I was there on my own, sitting beside a wee Chinese man waving the flag. It was cool. Ive spent half my life over here. Youre still always where youre from, but Im pleased as punch to be an American citizen.Elliott was trying to find a golf pro job during the economic downturn in 2008 when he caddied for Maarten Lafeber on the European Tour, and then Curtis. He was between jobs when Koepka, who began his career on the European Tour, received an exemption to the 2013 PGA Championship and his regular caddie had visa problems.First time I ever met him was on the range at the PGA, Elliott said. Hes striping these shots and Im like, `Happy days. I was still in Europe, but you know what its like when you see a good player. He made the cut that week, played with Tiger (Woods) on Sunday and said to me in the locker room, `Do you fancy doing a few in Europe?Theyve been together ever since. Koepka won in Turkey in 2014 and won the Phoenix Open the following year. He is No. 22 in the world, playing in his first Ryder Cup. He never thought twice about having anyone but Elliott on his bag.Elliott never considered sitting out.The caddie lives at Lake Nona in Orlando, home to some of Europes finest in the Ryder Cup over the years -- McDowell, Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson. It will be fun for Ricky, said Curtis, who used to live at Lake Nona and won his most recent event with Elliott on the bag. Once you get into it, its the same as when youre playing against one of your good friends in the final round. You want to beat them. And this will be the same thing. PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks figured Yasmany Tomas for more of a gap-to-gap type of hitter when they signed him. Phil Rizzuto Jersey . But in Tomas second major league season, hes found a home run swing.Tomas hit his first career grand slam, and the Arizona Diamondbacks came back from a three-run deficit after squandering a five-run lead to beat the Colorado Rockies 12-9 on Monday night.Tomas had four hits and five RBI, four on an opposite-field slam to right in the sixth inning off Jordan Lyles. Brandon Drury also had four hits, including a solo homer in the seventh for Arizona. In (batting practice) he exhibits more power than anybody. He hits it farther, Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said. Most of the year, hes hitting balls way up on that batters eye. He has it in him. I didnt think it would come this quickly.Lyles (4-5) got the first two outs of the sixth with the Rockies ahead 9-6. Then he gave up consecutive singles to Drury, Paul Goldschmidt and Welington Castillo before Tomas connected.Tomas matched his career high for hits in a game. His 29 home runs lead the Diamondbacks this season.Mitch Hanigers first major league home run also came in the Diamondbacks seventh. Randall Delgado (4-1) was credited with the win despite retiring only one of the four batters he faced in the sixth, and Daniel Hudson earned his third save.Just trying to keep it simple and swing at good pitches, said Haniger, who struck out his first three times up. That was a good comeback. We got off to a good lead early and then lost it, but it was a good finish. It shows a lot about the guys in this clubhouse.Arizona, with 16 hits on Monday, has 10 or more in 12 consecutive games against the Rockies. That makes the Diamondbacks the first NL team since the 1932 Brooklyn Dodgers to have a 12-game streak of 10-plus hits against a single opponent in one season.Daniel Descalso homered and drove in three runs, and Carlos Gonzalez doubled three times and added three RBI for the Rockies. Colorados 15 hits included four for Gonzalez and three for Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon.Arenados two-run single in the sixth gave Colorado a 9-6 lead after Descalso opened the inning with a solo shot. The Rockies trailed 5-0 going into the fourth inning.Charlie and DJ (LeMahieu) have been getting on base and doing their thing most of the year if not all year, Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. When they do that, Nolan and CarGo are swinging the bats and we will score some runs like we did tonight. But youve got to keep them from scoring, too.Diamondbacks starter Shelby Miller helped himself with the bat, doubling and scoring on a sacrifice that resulted in pitcher Tyler Andersons throwing error in the fourth. But the Rockies drew even at 6 in the fifth on Gonzalezs two-out, two-run double followed by a soft single by Raimel Tapia that scored Gonzalez. That was all for Miller, who started strong by getting the first nine outs in order but ended up allowing six runs and nine hits. There was a lot of high fastballs that most guys cant get on top of, that they were getting on top of and hitting very hard, Hale said. Its tough to give up the runs, but it was good to see his arm was working well.Anderson yielded five earned runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out seven, walked two and failed to last five innings for just the second time in 17 starts this season.JUMPING RIGHT INArizona native Will Claye, the triple jump silver medalist at the Rio Olympics, attended the game and caught one of three pitching-machine pop flies during a between-innings break.STREAKINGLeMahieu had two hits and reached base safely for the 29th consecutive game since Aug. 9, a career high.TRAINERS ROOMDiamondbacks OF A.J. INDIANAPOLIS -- After spending two days dissecting the problems from their last loss, the Indiana Pacers found some solutions Saturday. Nathan Gerry Jersey .And they didnt even need their best player, Paul George, to bail them out.Instead, Indiana made a season-high 12 3-pointers, forced 18 turnovers and pulled away from the struggling Chicago Bulls for a resounding 111-94 victory, after George was banished to the locker room for the final 13 1/2 minutes after inadvertently kicking the ball into the stands. This is what we feel we can do out on the floor, Pacers coach Nate McMillan said. Again, its going to be a process and its going to take time for us to continue to build. But this is the type of game we want to build off of.There was a reason this one looked easy. After seeing their problems exposed on tape, the embarrassed Pacers (3-3) found motivation in proving everyone wrong this time -- especially against a team playing back-to-back games for the first time this season. The Pacers took full advantage of the opportunity.C.J. Miles scored 20 points off the bench, making four 3s. Myles Turner finished with 16 points and four blocks, and George still had 13 points and seven rebounds. That was more than enough against the Bulls (3-3), who have lost three straight.Jimmy Butler and Doug McDermott each scored 16 points, while Rajon Rondo had nine points and five assists. But Rondo (four) and Butler (six) combined for nearly as many turnovers as the Pacers had as a team (12).Right out of the gate, you could see it was going to be tough, Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said. Weve got to find a way to bounce back and do the things to be successful. The game was only tied once, at 2-2, and Indiana soon took control.EJECTEDGeorge appeared to be upset when there was a no-call on one of his shots and then he was called for a foul on the Bulls ensuing possession. He was assessed a technical foul and immediately ejected. He said he apologized to the fan the ball hit. I just meant to kick the ball against the stanchion, George said. My soccer skills arent as good as I thought. Im glad my teammates were able to pick up this win and me not be at fault for a loss.THREE FOR THE SHOWAfter Georges departure, with 1:42 left in the third, the Pacers had two 3s out of their next four baskets. HOUSTON -- With the Utah Jazz attempting a late comeback, James Harden casually tossed an alley-oop to Clint Capela from just inside the halfcourt line for a thunderous dunk.Harden had 31 points and 10 assists, and Capela scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a 111-102 victory over the Jazz on Saturday.I knew where he was going to be, Harden said of the pass. Thats the kind of chemistry were trying to build, to knowing where guys are going to be at so everything works easy and its fluent.Eric Gordon added 20 points and fellow reserve Nene added a season-high 16 as the Rockets won for the third time in their last four games and improved to 4-1 at home.Rockets coach Mike DAntoni said Capela is growing more comfortable and confident on the floor every game.He had a monster game, and I dont think he did anything that he cant keep repeating, DAntoni said. As long as he runs the floor and screens and rolls, we have guys that will find him.The injury-plagued Jazz dropped their third straight game following a 6-2 start to November. Besides Gordon Hayward, the four other Jazz starters had a combined seven years of NBA experience.Rodney Hood led Utah with 25 points and Trey Lyles had 21. Rudy Gobert added 12 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.Harden shook defender Dante Exum and buried a 3-pointer with less than a minute remaining to give Houston an 11-point lead and put away the game for good.Jazz coach Quin Snyder said Harden is doing everything, and seems to be a great match with DAntoni.Clearly, he has taken it upon himself to help them execute the way coach DAntoni wants, Snyder said. They are very, very good. The Rockets took advantage of Utahs smaller lineup by outscoring Utah 52-46 in the paint and shying away from the 3-point line a little more than usual. Houston entered the game leading the league with 13.7 3-pointers made and 36.5 3-pointers attempted per game (37.4 percent), but made 12 of 32 against Utah.I think we were flat on both ends in the first half, Gobert said. We did not attack them on the offensive end and had too many mistakes on the defensive end. The two conversed in French throughout Saturdays game, with Gobert even sending Capela a friendly warning at one point. He told me to never try to dunk on him again, Capela said with a grin. I just told him, `Next time I go to dunk, just get out of the way.MAD MAXAs part of the ongoing celebration of the franchises 50th season, the Rockets honored former shooting guard Vernon Maxwell after the third quarter with a video tribute. Maxwell, who played on both of Houstons championship seasons in 1993-94 and 1994-95, was given a standing ovation following the video.ZERO TURNOVERSHarden became the first Rockets player since Sleepy Floyd in Orlando on April 8, 1990, to have at least 30 points, 10 assists and zero turnovers. LOUIS -- St. CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Reds are in the midst of a rebuilding process centered around their young pitching. On Thursday, theyll face St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Mike Leake, who was an integral part of the Reds future when he was selected eighth overall by them in the 2009 draft.Leake, whom the Reds traded to the San Francisco Giants at the non-waiver deadline last July, was signed by the Cardinals as a free-agent in December. Hes 8-8 with a 4.50 ERA in 21 starts this season for St. Louis. Hell be making his second career start against Cincinnati.Throughout his career, Leake has been an innings-eater whos able to limit his walks and be pitch-efficient without relying on strikeouts. His first season in a Cardinals uniform has been no different.Coming into Thursdays start at Great American Ball Park, Leake has not walked a batter in a career-high 30 straight innings, the longest active streak in the major leagues and second-longest this season.Despite his outstanding control, Leake has given up his share of runs this season. He allowed six runs and seven hits in five innings in his last start. In his only other meeting against the Reds, the 28-year old San Diego native allowed six runs and 10 hits while escaping with a no-decision in a 7-6 walk-off Cincinnati win June 7 at Great American Ball Park, where he has 34 victories.Cincinnatis starter in Thursdays finale of a three-game series is left-hander Brandon Finnegan, whom the Reds got from the Kansas Ciity Royals last July in the Johnny Cueto trade. Finnegan suffered a 1-0 loss on May 23 at Dodger Stadium. The Reds hope to have shortstop Zack Cozart back in the lineup Thursday after he missed two starts with a bruised right ring finger. He did make great improvements from last night, Reds manager Bryan Price said Wednesday. but this gives him a chance to go through more treatment and be in there tomorrow.Cincinnati won Tuesdays opener on Scott Scheblers three-run, walk-off home run. The Cardinals rebounded with a 5-4 victory Wednesday behind a pair of doubles and two RBI by Brandon Moss, Stephen Piscottys homer and solid relief work. The Cardinals come into Thursdays rubber game having won 18 of the past 22 series against the Reds. In the last 11 series at Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati has won only three.Weve got talent out there, St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said. PASADENA, Calif. Dexter Williams Youth Jersey . -- Josh Rosens arm once against captivated the Rose Bowl, but not with his usual passing prowess. It was a block Rosen threw that stole the show in the Bruins 42-21 win over UNLV on Saturday. Rosen sprung Soso Jamabos 23-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, putting his throwing shoulder into 280-pound defensive lineman Salanoa-Alo Wily as the sophomore running back cut back across the field.I wanted him to use his left shoulder rather than his right shoulder, UCLA coach Jim Mora said. I asked him if he could do that next time.Rosen threw for 267 yards and one touchdown and rushed for one score, Jamabo ran for 90 yards and three touchdowns as the Bruins (1-1) rebounded from a sluggish third quarter to hold off the improving Rebels (1-1).After posting an emphatic 37-3 win at UNLV last season, Mora was impressed with the improvement coach Tony Sanchezs team had made in less than one year. UCLA needed touchdown runs from Bolu Olorunfunmi and Rosen in the fourth quarter to pull away, with a targeting penalty against safety Kenny Keys extending the UCLA drive that pushed the lead back to 14 points. But that was the changing point of the game, Sanchez said. Third-and-10, were getting the ball back. All of a sudden you have that, they go down and score. Youre chasing it after that.Fabian Moreau intercepted two of UNLV quarterback Johnny Stantons passes, taking the first back 52 yards to set up a short touchdown run by Jamabo. Stanton had 153 yards passing for UNLV, which fell to 4-16 all-time against Pac-12 teams. Lexington Thomas added 112 yards rushing and one touchdown.Stanton found Mekhi Stevenson for a 14-yard touchdown pass late in the first half and scored on an 11-yard run in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 28-21. Devonte Boyd had five receptions for 84 yards, but dropped a sure 73-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage.THE TAKEAWAYUNLV: It wasnt a signature win for Sanchez, but this gritty performance showed that he has the program trending up in his second season. UNLV hung with the Pac-12 South preseason favorite, demonstrating the energy and athleticism that had been missing for years. If Stanton can become a more consistent passer, a bowl bid isnt out of the question this season.UCLA: There is plenty of work to be done before conference play begins against nemesis Stanford on Sept. 24. The run defense allowed 175 yards, and UNLV was able to convert 8 of 15 third downs. Rosen and the offense went ice cold in the third quarter. UCLA has plenty of talent but remains wildly inconsistent.INJURY UPDATEAlready playing without defensive end Takkarist McKinley (groin), the UCLA defensive line got even thinner when Eddie Vanderdoes exited with a right knee strain. Vanderdoes tore his ACL in his left knee last season.BACK TO SIN CITYSanchez was pleased that UNLV was able to compete with UCLA, but less than thrilled with his teams travel arrangements. When asked what he took away from the game, Sanchez said, Other than the 4.5 hour bus ride home?Unlike the paycheck games that filled the Week 2 schedule where smaller teams receive a guaranteed payout, this game completed a home-and-home series with UCLA.UP NEXTUNLV: The Rebels are back on the road at Central Michigan with the Chippewas coming off their improbable and controversial 30-27 win at Oklahoma State. UNLV has not won a road nonconference game since 2007.UCLA: The Bruins wrap up their nonconference schedule at BYU, which represents the end of the early Pac-12 South slate for the Cougars. UCLAs last trip to Provo, Utah in 2008 was a 59-0 thumping, the Bruins worst loss since 1929. Dave Robinson Jersey . RIO DE JANEIRO -- Tripped or not, it seems nothing can stop Mo Farah over 10,000 meters in a major championship. Not his training partner clipping his heel in the Olympic final. Not the assembled power of Kenyas best trying to wear him down. Not the final kick of rival Paul Tanui.Farah, with thoughts of his daughter Rihanna flashing through his mind, proved again he is in a league of his own at the moment -- and right up there with the greatest in history. In a thrilling Olympic final, the Somali-born British runner even had time to put his hands on top of his head in the trademark Mobot sign, as well-known to distance runners as Usain Bolts signature pose. Its never easy but everyone knows what I can do, Farah said. I thought about all my hard work, and that it could all be gone in a minute.Farah has three Olympic gold medals from two Olympics and is preparing for the defense of his 5,000 title next week. A good bet considering he has gold in all major races over the distance going back to 2011.Although he would surely welcome a little simpler race next Saturday, when he has a chance to become the first man to win back-to-back Olympic long-distance doubles since Finnish great Lasse Viren in the 1970s.All was going well early on in the 10,000, when Farah was safely running in the pack with American training partner Galen Rupp. Then, after 10 laps, Rupp clipped Farahs heel and the defending champion was down.I bumped into him, there was a lot of pushing, Rupp said.Suddenly, Farahs path to a gold medal was significantly more difficult. When I fell down. For one moment I was thinking, `Oh my race is over, my dream is over, Farah said. Then, amid the mayhem of tens off thousands of fans shouting in disbelief, Farahs thoughts turned to his family and how he still needed a gold to keep everyone happy. Rashan Gary Jersey. Id promised my older daughter Rihanna I was going to get a medal for her and in my mind I was thinking I cant let her down, said Farah, who flashed a thumbs-up sign to show he was OK. The twins from 2012 have got one of each and Rihannas missing one so I thought, `I cant, I cant.Once he caught up with the pack again, the Kenyans made their move. Farah is known for his unmatched finishing kick, so wearing him down is the only way to win. And after his comeback from the fall, they would perhaps stand a chance. Not this time.Even when three Kenyans tried to push away from the pack with spurts of acceleration, there was no shaking Farah off.As each lap went down I was getting more confidence, confidence, confidence, he said.Farah took the lead with one kilometer to go, and usually that means the race is over. Yet this time, Tanui would not let go.A bunch of four trailed Farah at the bell, and Tanui saw his chance down the back straight to finally break Farahs hold on long-distance racing. But Farah produced yet another comeback and once he swerved past Tanui going into the final straight, he might as well have started his victory lap. He won in 27 minutes, 5.17 seconds, while Tanui held on for silver in 27:05.64 and Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia took bronze.Farah fell to the track at the finish, his face down, trying hard to take it all in.---Follow Raf Casert on Twitter at Wholeslae Jerseys NFL Jerseys Cheap Wholesale NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale Soccer Jerseys Cheap College Jerseys Cheap Football Jerseys Cheap Basketball Jerseys Cheap Baseball Jerseys ' ' '
Brisbane coach John Aloisi says theres been no word from Jamie Maclaren on outside interest but believes the striker needs at least one more season in the A-League before taking his career overseas. Rashaan Evans Jersey .Maclarens future at the Roar remains in limbo after he rejected the clubs offer of an extension, which his agent Paddy Dominguez described as disgusting and highly disrespectful. The 23-year-old set the stalemate aside on Friday night to score Brisbanes only a goal in a lucky 1-1 away draw against Western Sydney.I thought I put in a good shift, Maclaren said.My heads down, I dont even want to think about contracts - all Im thinking about is goals.Aloisi praised Maclaren for stepping up despite observing some things were playing on his mind during the week.Aloisi says he wont stop his star striker from leaving at the end of this campaign if terms arent agreed and admitted Asia, the Middle East or Europe were the best places to go for a big pay cheque, even if the former Osasuna star thinks Maclaren should stay at home a little longer.I havent really spoken to him about whether theres any other clubs interested - Im sure there are because hes a quality striker, Aloisi said. But the situation with Jamie is simple: Id like him to stay, the club would like him to stay, but we also understand that if he wants to leave and go overseas to look to improve we have to respect his decision. But at the moment I feel for Jamie its best he stays here for another season or two, and then hopefully when he goes over he hits the ground running.Aloisi was also quick to hose down speculation Tommy Oar has attracted strong interest from an unnamed Chinese Super League outfit.Oar was dropped from the starting line-up on Friday and missed a late chance to score the winner off the bench.I dont know who makes up some of these stories, he said.We havent received any offers for Tommy Oar.Brisbane remain third ahead of next weeks trip to Melbourne City but the scoreline flattered Aloisis side, who could have been several goals down but for the Wanderers wastefulness and another fine performance from Michael Theo.Fresh from last weekends heroics against Sydney FC, Theos sharpness kept the below-par Roar in the game. The last two weeks hes shown why hes won five championships, why hes a winner, Aloisi said. When you dont play at your top level you need a keeper to get you out of situations, and he has done that. He flipped up his visor to wipe away tears as the crowd roared its approval, and then in Victory Lane gave his bride of two months a long kiss and poured the celebratory winners milk over his head. Kanaan is Indys hard-luck loser no more. He is its champion at last, fittingly with a dose of good luck for a change. "I have to say, the last lap was the longest lap of my life," Kanaan said. It was one of Indys most popular victories. The losers were pleased with the outcome, evidenced by a scene similar to rivals lining up to congratulate Dale Earnhardt when he finally won the Daytona 500 on his 20th try. Dario Franchitti, whose crash brought out the race-ending caution, stood grinning by his crumpled car, two thumbs up as Kanaan passed under yellow. "When I saw who was leading, it cheered me up a little bit," said Franchitti, last years winner. "Hes a very, very deserving winner." The fans thought so, too, standing on their feet, screaming "TK! TK! TK!" as he and team owner Jimmy Vasser went by during the traditional victory lap. It felt magical to Kanaan, like he had given the crowd at Indianapolis Motor Speedway a gift. "It means a lot to me because so many people, I could feel that they wanted me to win, and its such a selfish thing to do because what are they getting from it?" Kanaan said. "Im the one who gets the trophy. I believed that this win was more for people out there than for me. "I wanted it all my life, but over the years I was kind of OK with the fact that I may never have the chance to win." His chance came at the end of a history-making race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where Kanaan knew he had to pounce at the green flag for the final restart with three laps to go. He did, zipping inside leader Ryan Hunter-Reay to roar to the lead -- where he wanted to be in case another caution came out. "I knew I had to get the lead on the restart because it could be a yellow, which happened to me plenty of times here, and it did," Kanaan said. "How funny is life? The yellow was my best friend." Kanaan had his fair share of chances to win at Indy, but came up short time and time again. He was leading when the rain came in 2007, only to lose to Franchitti when the race resumed. In all, Kanaan went into Sundays race with 221 laps led at Indy -- more than any non-winner except Michael Andretti and Rex Mays -- but his second-place finish to Buddy Rice in 2004 was the closest he had come to victory. He had a pair of third-place finishes, including last year, again to Franchitti. "Its wonderful for him," said Mario Andretti, himself a victim of bad luck at Indy. "Hes raced here long enough that he deserves it, no question." The win for Kanaan and car owner Vasser was celebrated throughout the paddock. Alex Zanardi, who came from Italy to watch the race and gave Kanaan one of his 2012 London Paralympics medals as good luck, wept behind the pit wall as Kanaan took the checkered flag. "I tell you Im starting to think (the medal) really works," said Zanardi, who lost his legs in a 2001 crash in Germany. "Its a dream come true to see Tony win, to see Jimmy Vasser win, my dear friend. Im so happy, Im so happy." It was Vasser who brought Zanardis medal to Kanaan before the race, telling his driver that Zanardi wanted him to rub it for good luck. "I actually cuddled with the thing," Kanaan admitted. Vasser, caught in the middle as a driver during the political fighting in open-wheel racing, only got the chance to run Indy eight times in his career and not during his prime. He had goose-bumps on the celebratory lap with Kanaan as the crowd chanted the drivers name. "I never won it as a driver. In fact, I couldnt win it as a driver," Vasser said, "so I had to hire the right guy to do it, get a baby Borg on my shelf," referring to the winners Borg-Warner trophy. It will be onne adorned with Kanaans likeness, and the driver joked he could finally "put my big nose on that trophy. Malcolm Butler Jersey. ." Fellow Brazilian Helio Castroneves, like Franchitti shooting for a record-tying fourth Indy win, was happy for his long-time friend. "Finally hes able to win this race. Hes so close so many times, but the good news is the good old boys are still able to run fast," Castroneves said. Carlos Munoz, a 21-year-old rookie making his first IndyCar start, finished second and Hunter-Reay was third. "T.K. is such a fan favourite, absolutely, its great to see him win it. If anybody is going to win it in the field, hes one of the few Id like to see other than myself," Hunter-Reay said. "We were leading on that last restart, I knew I was a sitting duck, and I wasnt too bummed about it because I knew we had enough laps to get it going again and have a pass back. Maybe I would be third on the last lap, which is where I wanted to be." Only there was no racing on the last lap. Franchitti brought out the caution seconds after Kanaan passed Hunter-Reay for the last of 68 lead changes -- exactly double last years record. On the final lap, the leaders came to the finish line all bunched up around Kanaan, saluting the IndyCar stalwart who had longed to add the final missing piece to his resume. That was about as slow as anyone had driven all day. The average speed was 187.433 mph, another Indy record. Marco Andretti finished fourth, failing to win for the eighth time, and Justin Wilson was fifth in the highest-finishing Honda on a day that was dominated by Chevrolet. Castroneves was sixth. Pole-sitter Ed Carpenter led a race-high 37 laps and finished 10th. James Hinchcliffe of Oakville, Ont., and Alex Tagliani of Lachenaie, Que., finished 21st and 24th, respectively. "It was a bad day all around. I feel bad for my teammates," said Hinchcliffe, who led the race three times for a total of seven laps. "We were running right at the front there and a (caution) may have cost us a chance at the win. Theres nothing really to say about our day. It was a non-factor. We were a non-event. Im really disappointed." Tagliani said his day was over when he made contact with the wall. "I got on the outside and I touched the gray and the car slid," he said. "When you do a lot of laps, the marbles accumulate and I touched the marbles and I tagged the wall with the rear a bit -- just enough to bend the suspension and we had to change it. We lost a bunch of laps." For a time, it appeared the win would go to AJ Allmendinger, who led 23 laps in his Indy debut for Roger Penske. Fired by Penske from his NASCAR ride last year after failing a NASCAR drug test, Penske gave him a second chance with this IndyCar opportunity. Seven years after leaving open-wheel racing, Allmendinger finally ran "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" and was leading when his seat belt came undone, forcing him to pit. It put Allmendinger off the pit cycle, and he was forced to stop for gas twice far in advance of the rest of the field. It meant Allmendinger had to drive his way back to the front each time, and he finally sputtered out at seventh. "Ill be honest, pretty special moment to be leading at Indy," he said. "My body kind of went numb, my mind was racing and I could feel my heart beating really fast, and thats a special moment Ill never forget." A year after 34 lead changes and a frantic finish created what many considered the best Indy ever, IndyCar had its hands full trying to top itself. This one might have done it, with the slicing and dicing at the front, over and over and over again. The 68 lead changes involved 14 drivers, and 28 of the 33 cars were running at the end. With 100 miles to go, 25 drivers were on the lead lap. "It was a hell of a race. Thats all I can say," said Mario Andretti. "This is riveting competition, thats all I can tell you. Its just amazing. The reliability of the cars is there. The product is there. Its unbelievable racing, the best Ive seen in years." BOSTON -- When the New York Yankees last visited Fenway Park in early August, they were bidding farewell to Alex Rodriguez and their playoffs hopes appeared slim to none. Tony Adams Jersey .One month later, a youth movement has brought them within four games of the American League East-leading Boston Red Sox and into another late-season showdown with their bitter rival.Boston hosts New York in the opener of a four-game weekend set Thursday night.I probably wouldve said this is where we should be, said New York manager Joe Girardi, who was touting his teams playoff chances even when they trailed by 6 1/2 games in the AL East on the last day of their August trip to Boston.I think we were extremely frustrated with where we were as of July 31, and I told you I expected this club to continue to compete at a high level and win, and thats what theyve done.New York (77-68) has gone 19-12 since taking the rubber match of their three-game set at Fenway Park on Aug. 11, and the Yankees are only two games out of the second AL wild-card spot.Theyve gone through about as much turnover as probably anyone, Red Sox manager John Farrell said. Theyve got good quality young players that theyve been able to turn to that have certainly injected a lot of life into that club.Gary Sanchez has been at the forefront of the Yankees comeback. The 23-year-old hit his first career homer during the August series at Fenway and has launched 13 more since.New York and Boston have played their fair share of meaningful autumn games at Fenway over the years, but this series represents a new chapter in the rivalry.Still, Girardi doesnt anticipate too many hiccups from his youngsters. It could be interesting, Girardi said. Everything so far theyve handled. Are there some tricky things in that ballpark? Yes, but that can affect anyone, so if something happens, Im not going to be surprised. But my expectation is theyll handle it well.As well as they have played of late, the Yankees are limping into Boston after dropping three of their past four games, including a 2-0 defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.Fortunately for them, the Red Sox (81-64) havent been playing their best baseball either. Boston routed the Baltimore Orioles 12-2 in the opener of a three-game set Monday, but fell 6-3 Tuesday and were blanked 1-0 in the rubber game Wednesday. The Red Sox turn to young southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez (2-7, 4.70 ERA) in Thursdays opener.Rodriguez has been outstanding in limited action against the Yankees this season, going 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA in two starts against them.He faced them in the Aug. 11 contest and gave up a run on three hits and a walk while striking out six in a seven-inning no-decision.Rodriguez is 4-1 with a 1.88 ERA in six career starts against New York.Jacoby Ellsbury is batting .294 (5-for-17) with two solo homers off Rodriguez, and Didi Gregorius has hit .353 (6-for-17) with an RBI against him.Masahiro Tanaka (13-4, 3.04 ERA) counters Rodriguez for the Yankees. He has pitched well in two starts against Boston this season, going 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA.Tanaka is 5-2 with a 4.42 ERA in nine career starts against the Red Sox.David Ortiz (5-for-21, .238) and Xander Bogaerts (6-for-25, .240) each have one homer and three RBI off Tanaka. Dustin Pedroia is batting .316 (6-for-19) with a solo homer against him. Preston Williams Jersey . In Europe, top teams seem to be largely happy with their squads after spending nearly $1 billion in the off-season. And although English league clubs are unlikely to splash cash in January, Arsenal and Chelsea could be tempted to strengthen their squads with new strikers. Brice Butler Jersey . Now, with Game 6 set for Fenway Park and an 8:07 p.m. ET first pitch, the Detroit Tigers face the unenviable task of having to beat the Boston Red Sox twice, on the road, to advance to the World Series. . Robredo, ranked No. 16, bounced back from an upset loss to Leonardo Mayer in the second round of the Royal Guard Open in Chile last week to down Carreno Busta in 1 hour, 25 minutes. On a day filled mostly with qualifying matches, fifth-seeded Marcel Granollers of Spain also entered the second with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win over Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia, while Guido Pella of Argentina defeated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain 7-6 (6), 6-4 to advance. PITTSBURGH -- A year ago, James Conner spent the days before Thanksgiving wondering what was wrong with him. The answer came in the form of a cancer diagnosis that sent the Pittsburgh running back through months of debilitating treatment that threatened his blossoming career. Its all behind him now. All of it. And that -- more than the records hes breaking at an alarming rate -- is what matters. Its why Conner didnt get wrapped up in his own hype after his pair of touchdowns in Pitts easy 56-14 romp over Duke on Saturday made him the leading career touchdown scorer in Atlantic Coast Conference history. When I take the field, I put cancer and everything behind me and just play, said Conner, who left briefly after tweaking his right ankle in the second quarter but returned for the second half. Im getting better every week.So are the Panthers (7-4, 4-3 ACC), who showed no signs of a letdown after stunning Clemson last week. Conner, as is his wont, led the way. He bulled over from 1 yard in the first quarter and again in the third to give him 50 rushing touchdowns for his career, breaking the previous mark set by N.C. States Ted Brown between 1975 and 1978. Conner now has 53 touchdowns in all, eclipsing the old ACC mark of 52 set by Wali Lundy of Virginia from 2002-05.Asked if any of them stand out over the others and Conner pointed to his 20-yard sprint in the fourth quarter against the Tigers, the one that put Pitt in position to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the programs recent history.Everything Ive been through and me working on getting in a rhythm, my endurance playing 60 minutes of football, Conner said, it showed I can play 60 minutes of football at a high level, late in the game, Conner said. For once such theatrics werent necessary for Pitt. Not with Conner running for 101 yards. Not with Quadree Henderson returning a punt 65 yards for a score and adding another on a 52-yard jet sweep. Not with Nate Peterman throwing for three scores in the wind at wintry Heinz Field as the Panthers set a new school record with 432 points on the season. It was a good, comfortable win, Conner said. Weve got to finish out the season strong.A DUD FOR THE BLUE DEVILSDaniel Jones completeed 28 of 46 for 248 yards and a touchdown but Duke (4-7, 1-6) did little downfield against the nations 127th-ranked pass defense. John Denney Jersey. . The Panthers sacked Jones five times, including two by senior defensive end Ejuan Price. After going over 200 yards on the ground in each of their last three games, the Blue Devils managed just 25 yards rushing against Pitt. They won the execution battle and thats why the score is so lopsided, Duke coach David Cutcliffe said. We also lost the kicking game. It wasnt our intention coming in, but we just got whipped.RESPECTHendersons zig-zag punt return in the third quarter put the Panthers up 42-14 and marked his fourth kick return for a score this year, tops in the nation. The Blue Devils found one way to keep it from Henderson, having Jones do a quick kick on a fourth-down later in the third quarter.I was sitting off to the sideline, waiting for (the snap) and he just kicked, Henderson said with a laugh. Definitely a sign of respect. I appreciate it.THE TAKEAWAYDuke: The only chance the Blue Devils have of making a fifth straight bowl game will be with a win at Miami next week and hope there arent enough 6-6 teams to fill the bowl slots.Pitt: While the defense is hardly stout, the Panthers have become opportunistic of late. An early fumble recovery by linebacker Matt Galambos on Dukes first play set up a touchdown and helped the Panthers set the tone. Pitt later turned a fumbled Duke kickoff return into another score.UP NEXTDuke: travels to Miami in the regular season finale. The Hurricanes stunned the Blue Devils 30-27 last season, winning on the final play during a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that featured eight laterals. The ACC ended suspending officials for two games following a series of officiating errors during the return.Pitt: will try to continue its mastery of Syracuse. The Panthers have won 10 of their last 11 against the Orange, including all three meetings since the schools joined the ACC in 2013.---More AP college football: and .
