LONDON -- The last flickering hopes of U. Nike SB Ireland Sale .S. men at 2016 Wimbledon were doused Wednesday in a slow and steady shower of unreturnable Milos Raonic serves and volleys.Raonic ended Sam Querreys impressive trip to his first Grand Slam quarterfinal in an artful display of throwback tennis, serving and volleying his way to a 6-4, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 win in two and a half hours.I knew he had a big serve, Querrey said afterward. But I was really impressed with his net game. He really didnt miss a volley today. He kept coming forward, kept the pressure on me, and I felt it. Kudos to him for playing a very good, clean match.Call it the McEnroe Effect. Raonic recently began working with tennis icon turned commentator John McEnroe, the most electric serve-and-volley player of his storied era. McEnroe has remained an evangelist for attacking tennis, and he has advocated for his latest understudy to attack more opportunistically and to be more assertive on the court. If this match is an indication of things to come, Roger Federer could have more hard work ahead of himself in Fridays semifinal meeting with the 6-foot-5 Canadian. One of the first things we focused on when we were spending a week of training [before the Queens tournament] was really about not passing up any opportunities to come forward, Raonic said. Just to always keep the pressure on my opponents, keep them guessing, making them feel uncomfortable, trying to make them play unbalanced as much as possible.Querrey certainly felt unbalanced. He allowed later that the constant pressure ate at him and corroded his game. All of a sudden its 30-all, and youve got a forehand in the middle of the court, and youre kind of like, I havent hit one of these in 30 minutes, Querrey said. The match stats tell a fascinating and, for this era, unfamiliar story. Raonic hit a modest 13 aces, but he made serve-and-volley approaches on nearly half his opportunities (42-of-105). Thats unheard of in this era of baseline walloping.More striking, Raonic won 79 percent of those approaches -- a remarkable number, given the oft-repeated refrain that its no longer possible to play old-school serve-and-volley tennis. And thanks to his volley, he was also able to win 71 percent of his second-serve points.American men on the whole had an excellent Wimbledon in light of their recent struggles. Querrey was the first Grand Slam quarterfinalist for the U.S. in nearly five years -- since the 2011 US Open. Other players from the U.S. also did some good racket work. It all started on a positive note when Donald Young knocked off Argentinas Leonardo Mayer in the first round.More highlights for the U.S. during Wimbledon:Querreys stunning upset of Novak Djokovic in the third round was the most significant stunner of the fortnight. Querrey led by two sets to none when the match was called because of rain. He ultimately held his nerve the following day to win in five sets.Unseeded Steve Johnson defeated former Wimbledon semifinalist Grigor Dimitrov in five sets. The third-round win vaulted Johnson into a match with Roger Federer, who ended the Americans run. Johnson also won the first ATP Tour title of his career, in Nottingham, shortly before Wimbledon.John Isner failed to reach the fourth round for the third year running. The master of the marathon Wimbledon match, Isner won the first two sets from No. 12 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on the first Saturday of play. Tsonga won the third-set tiebreaker in waning light and the match was suspended until Peoples Sunday. The people were treated to a lengthy conclusion. Tsonga won the fourth set 6-2, and the fifth set evoked echoes of Isners 70-68 fifth-set Wimbledon epic against Nicolas Mahut in 2010. Isner and Tsonga swapped service holds until the Frenchman finally punched through to win it 19-17.Jack Sock, seeded No. 27, had a good win against a resurgent Ernests Gulbis in Round 1 and fought his way into the third round. Raonic proved too much for Sock at that stage, serving his way to a straight-sets win.I think its been a great two weeks for the mens side, Querrey said before leaving Wimbledon for his final grass event this year, in Newport. Steve Johnson had a great run and also got his first title. Even though John and Jack lost in the third round, they lost to tough players. To have two guys in the third round, a guy in the fourth round, a guy in the quarters, we dont do that too often. It was nice. And with the hard-court season coming up (this year, it includes the Olympic Games in Rio), things could get even nicer. GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio has been exposed to a variety of leadership styles.Between his fathers NFL coaching career -- six stops in 20 years -- and his own collegiate path that includes three schools and four head coaches, Del Rio has seen a little bit of everything. Some good, some bad and enough to know what he wants, maybe even what he needs, to help him succeed.I dont want somebody to pat me on the back, said Del Rio, whose father, Jack, coaches the Oakland Raiders .Good thing, too, since hes playing for Florida coach Jim McElwain, who is often more critical than complimentary of his quarterbacks. He gets after me pretty good, Del Rio said. You can ask guys during practice; hell get after me. I expect it, though. I came here to play for him. I knew what kind of coach he was and is. I never really want to play for a coach thats like `Ah, its OK, get the next one, you know? You understand that as a player, but you want to be held to the standard the coaches set.The 23rd-ranked Gators (2-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference), who host North Texas (1-1) on Saturday, fell well short of McElwains expectations last season. The offense ranked 112th in the country, and QB play was a big reason for the struggles. Will Grier and Treon Harris threw for nearly 2,900 yards, with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2015. Grier showed glimpses of talent, but once he was suspended for violating the NCAAs policy on performance-enhancing drugs and Harris took over down the stretch, Floridas offensive efficiency dipped dramatically.Even when Grier and Harris played well, McElwain sounded less than impressed.Hes taken the same approach with Del Rio, who has completed 63 percent of his passes for 576 yards, with six touchdowns and an interception.I try to coach them all hard because I want them to, you know, I want them to bbe successful, McElwain said. Wholesale Nike SB Ireland From China. And especially at that position, but really all of them, you know. I dont think Ive done anything different from what Ive ever done.So maybe Del Rio ought to get used to it. After all, if hes going to be criticized after throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns in the teams SEC opener against Kentucky, then its probably going to happen weekly.Del Rio finished with Floridas most passing yards in an SEC game since Chris Leak threw for 322 against Arkansas in 2004.But it was the throws Del Rio missed that stood out to McElwain. He pointed to two in particular: Del Rio overthrew Antonio Callaway on a skinny post in the second quarter during a drive that ended with a missed field goal; and Del Rio was well short and wide of Freddie Swain on a corner route late in the third quarter. Del Rio bounced back from the second one, tossing his final TD pass three plays later. Two days after the 45-7 victory against the Wildcats, McElwain was still bothered by the pass to Swain and said the one to Callaway was just ridiculous that he missed that throw. That bothers me, McElwain said. But hell see that and hopefully learn from it. ... He just did what he was supposed to do. He did his job. And yet, if he does his job better, which he can, hell hit those throws. And really, it irritates me.Del Rio welcomes the critiques, win or lose, big game or lackluster performance.Theyre going to tell you the way it is, Del Rio said. They expect you to make every play. Like I said, I expect to make play. I definitely left some plays out there. I agree with him. Mechanically, especially, I think I can be more sound. So I appreciate it.---AP college football website: www.collegefootball.ap.org ' ' '

No. Discount Adidas Shoes NZ . 13 Western Michigan and No. 20 Navy could put a bunch of bowls on hold, depending on what the College Football Playoff selection committee thinks of their performances this weekend. If Navy is in position to earn a spot in a major bowl game when the rankings and semifinal pairings are set Sunday, the 12-person committee will wait a week for Navy to play Army to make a final call on where the Midshipmen should be ranked.Navy (9-2) is 19th in the latest playoff rankings, two spots behind unbeaten Western Michigan heading into the Midshipmens matchup with Temple in the American Athletic Conference championship game Saturday. The Broncos (13-0) beat Ohio 29-23 in the Mid-American championship game Friday night in Detroit. The highest ranked team from the so-called Group of Five -- American, MAC, Mountain West, Conference USA and Sun Belt -- gets an automatic bid to a New Years Six bowl. This season that means the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas, on Jan. 2.Selection committee chairman Kirby Hocutt said this week that the committee has had a conference call scheduled for Dec. 10 since the summer, just in case this issue came up.If Navy was to pass Western Michigan, it is all but certain the committee would wait to make sure the Midshipmen beat Army (6-5) before it set a Cotton Bowl matchup. If Navy remains behind WMU come Sunday, it will be up to the committee to determine if it needs to see the Army result. The committee is not limited by any specific number, distance behind or ahead. The committee only has to evaluate whether the Army game could affect Navys selection, said Bill Hancock, the executive director of the College Football Playoff. The problem with numerical metrics with something like this is two spots behind could be as close as four spots behind depending on how the committee views that cluster of teams together.Waiting a week to determine whether Western Michigan, Navy or some other team plays in the Cotton Bowl is an inconvenience for organizers of that game, but the bigger issue is the possible trickle-down effect to other bowls.Wright Waters, executive director of the Football Bowl Association, said Thursday that 10 to 14 bowls could be impacted by the delay in setting the Cotton Bowl matchup. The problem is not the number, its the number on that first weekend, Waters said. The first day of the bowl season is Dec. 17. There are six games, all involving Group of Five teams. Delaying setting those matchups until Dec. 11, when teams would have to be at a bowl site three days later, would create a logistical nightmare. The Navy issue is not the only one facing bowl organizers as they try to fill 80 spots for 40 games. Several conferences, including the Pac-12, Big 12 and Big Ten, do not have enough bowl-eligible teams to fill all their contracted spots. There will be at least a couple of 5-7 teams competing in bowl games this season. North Texas and Mississippi State are in line to get bowl bids with sub-.500 records because of their Academic Progress Rate scores, but they will have to wait until all the teams that qualified with six victories are accommodated. Army, an independent, is also in the mix, no matter how it does against Navy.Whats occurring this year is not necessarily different than what occurs every year at this time, MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher said. You have different parties exploring different scenarios. If Navy does not end up in the Cotton Bowl, it is contracted to play in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 23. If Navy goes to the Cotton, the American would not have enough bowl-eligible teams to fill all its spots, which is how the Cure Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on Dec. 17 could be affected by all this.Swapping out Western Michigan for Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl might be part of a solution. There is also a spot the Big Ten cannot fill in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on Dec. 27 that would be a good fit for Western Michigan if it falls out of the New Years Six.ESPN owns and operates 11 bowls, all of which involve Group of Five schools, and it will be involved in putting the postseason puzzle together, too. There are a few twists that could be a little more complex, American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco said, but for the most part its not going to involve the whole system.---Follow Ralph D. WEST POINT, N. Nike Schuhe Schweiz .Y. -- To start his third season at West Point, coach Jeff Monken duplicated his first game at Army -- in spades.Last weeks season-opening 28-13 win over Temple at Lincoln Financial Field was a breakthrough moment of sorts for the Black Knights: it obliterated the memory of their previous game there, a 21-17 loss in December to archrival Navy that ended Armys second 2-10 season in four years; was their first win in 13 tries at the home of the Philadelphia Eagles; and it came against a team that had a breakout 10-win season in 2015.The thing that I was probably most pleased with was that at no point in the game did I feel that our guys lacked the confidence to win, that they were concerned or worried about what might happen next, Monken said.Army will try to build on that success when it hosts Rice on Saturday at Michie Stadium. These Owls also dropped their season opener, 46-14 at Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers finished with 552 yards passing and 97 rushing, amassing 649 yards. Rice failed to put pressure on quarterback Mike White and had only 288 total yards offensively in a sloppy game. They all tried to do more than theyre capable of at times, Rice coach David Bailiff said. They just have to relax and play, and were going to be just fine. Well get it worked out. The great news is that it wasnt an effort thing.Other things to know when Rice visits Army on Saturday:DROP THISTyler Stehling is the starting quarterback for Rice for the first time in his career. He threw for 183 yards and ran for 85 yards and a score against Western Kentucky. He also threw two interceptions and his receivers faltered badly. We had six drops, or he (Stehling) could have had a magnificent night, Bailiff said. Weve got to eliminate those drops. Everybody is going to drop a couple, but you cant drop six.TURNOVERS RULEThe Army defense enters the game with three interceptions, half its total for all of last season. The Black Knights lead the nation in turnover margin, tied with seven other schools. Last season, Army finished 113th (-0.92) in that category.KEEP IT ON THE GROUNDThe Army option gained 329 yards rushing against Temple on 67 attempts and scored four touchdowns. Monken wants to get 1,000 yards rushing from the quarterback spot, but the fullbacks starred against Temple. Andy Davidson had 121 yards on 21 carries to pace the attack.IS THIS THE YEAR?Army has had only one winning season -- 7-6 in 2010 under Rich Ellerson -- since Bob Sutton led the Black Knights to a 10-2 mark and a national ranking 20 years ago.WIN STREAKRice has beaten Army five straight times, including all three meetings at West Point.---AP college football website: www.collegefootball.ap.org---Follow Kekis on Twitter: www.twitter.com/Greek1947 Nike Schuhe Schweiz Online . The Montreal Canadiens announced on Friday that the veteran forward will return to the teams line-up on Saturday night when the Habs visit the Nashville Predators.BOSTON -- Boston Marathon runners who were stopped on the course when bombs went off at the finish line, including many Canadians, will have a chance to come back and run again next year, race organizers said on Thursday. One month and one day after the April 15 explosions that killed three people and wounded hundreds more, the Boston Athletic Association said that 5,633 people who were stopped on the second half of the course when the race was shut down at 2:50 p.m. will be allowed to register early for next years race. "The opportunity to run down Boylston Street and to cross the finish line amid thousands of spectators is a significant part of the entire Boston Marathon experience," B.A.A. executive director Tom Grilk said. "With the opportunity to return and participate in 2014, we look forward to inviting back these athletes." The B.A.A. said runners who passed the halfway checkpoint at 13.1 miles but hadnt reached the finish line will get a code to register in August; regular registration is scheduled to begin in September. Runners will be required to pay the entry fee -- the amount hasnt been determined yet -- but they will not have to re-qualify by running another marathon in a given time. Normal registration for the Boston Marathon requires a qualifying time from 3 hours 5 minutes for an 18- to 34-year-old man to 5:25 for an 80-year-old woman. The requirement forces most runners to spend a full year training for their qualifying and Boston runs and makes the race, for many, a one-time event. The announcement was quickly praised on the B.A.A. Facebook pagge, where thousands of people -- many of them using the B. Nike Schuhe Schweiz Sale. A.A. logo or other marathon-related photos for their profile picture -- "liked" the announcement. Hundreds posted comments vowing to return. "I dont feel entitled to this in the least," wrote Maggie Lapan. "But thank you BAA." The B.A.A. said it has contacted those affected, a group that includes 2,611 runners from Massachusetts and 726 from 47 countries. There are 2,983 women and 2,650 men, aged 18 to 82. More than 2,000 Canadians were registered for the storied race. "Boston spectators are known for their impassioned support and unbridled enthusiasm, and they will give these returning athletes some of the loudest cheers at next years race," Grilk said in the release, which added that no decision has been made on whether the 2014 field will expand to include an expected influx of runners who say they want to run next year to support the race and the city. "We want to thank our participants for their patience as we continue to work through the details of arranging this accommodation for them," Grilk said. "And we ask for continued patience from the running community as we plan the 2014 Boston Marathon next April." The B.A.A. has granted limited deferrals in the past, including one for European runners who couldnt get to town because of the Icelandic volcano eruption in 2010. Last year, with forecasts of dangerous heat, organizers allowed everyone a chance to defer their entry to this years race; a few hundred took advantage of the offer. ' ' '

Sky Sports coverage of the Scottish football season reaches a climax on Scottish Cup final day. Cheap Adidas Superstar Canada Discount . Its live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 2pm on Saturday. Presenter David Tanner looks forward to the final, and also the arrival of Brendan Rodgers at Celtic... The city of Glasgow never tires of talking football. On the evidence of my strolls along Sauchiehall and Buchanan Streets this week, the volume of the chatter has reached levels not heard for years. Celtic fans told me of their excitement about Brendan Rodgers coming to town. I could only agree! Others were sad that Neil Lennon wasnt being welcomed back; I agreed with them, too. Discussions tended to move onto thoughts about whether the new boss should worry about the return of the other half of the Old Firm to the Premiership. Meanwhile, the blue half of town is all over the Scottish Cup final. As is the green end of Edinburgh! It struck me that this week might prove to be a watershed for Scottish football and for the fans in the countrys biggest city. This is the time when football people appear to me to have started looking forward with anticipation and excitement, rather than looking back in anger. The events that have unfolded at Rangers since 2012 - and the fiscal arrangements which preceded them - have dominated and soured many discussions about Scottish football for way too long. Without the Old Firm going head-to-head to provide the entertainment, fans of the great rivals have been left to argue the toss about tax schemes and other legal complexities. And youd be amazed how many tax experts there are out there now! Everybody has their own truth on this subject. The discourse of discontent can hopefully be drowned out now. Mark Warburton and Alan Stubbs will go head-to-head at Hampden Park Celtic have shown huge appetite and ambition in their pursuit and capture of Rodgers (there were so many fantastic options available to the champions this time!) and there is clearly about to be substantial investment in human resources at Parkhead. The personal intervention of Dermot Desmond in the recruitment process excites me; it sends out a strong message that wasnt there when he took a back seat when the unfathomable appointment of Ronny Deila was made two years ago. Id argue that these great Glasgow clubs exist primarily to beat the other one! Trophies and European runs are an added bonus! As a Celtic supporter, Brendan will understand this but only to a degree... as he becomes immersed in Celtic and the Old Firm, hell soon discover more about the unique culture of bedlam! Hell find Glasgow to be more intense than Liverpool. I believe that prospect will excite him! Luke Shanley tells us Brendan Rodgers is the big-name manager Celtic wanted Before Brendan experiences the Old Firm clash next season - remember, all of the meetings in the Ladbrokes Premiership will be live on Sky Sports - theres a William Hill Scottish Cup final involving Rangers and another big city club, Hibernian, to look forward to.The word from inside Hampden Park is that demand for cup final tickets outstrips even that for the colossal Old Firm semi-final! Hibs and Rangers fans are noticeably looking forward to this game more than they have any other in recent years.  McCann: Stubbs tactical edge Neil McCann is backing Rangers to prolong Hibernians Scottish Cup misery this weekend... Why is there such a final frenzy? First and foremost, both sets of fans know that their favourites can win it. For much of this season, it was difficult to separate the clubs in the league - it was two home wins apiece. The years of mayhem at Rangers and, similarly, Hibernians slide into the Championship - and their extended stay there - means the cup final has additional... well... everything! Despite their Championship status, Hibs managed to reach the final of the League Cup. But that good work seemed to be unravelled by the nature of the late defeat to Ross County at Hampden, coupled with a complete collapse in the league. The form slump led to a new phrase entering the Scottish football dictionary... Hibernian will look to end a run of 10 Scottish Cup final defeats stretching back to 1902 when they play Rangers on Saturday Hibsed it (phrasal verb) - to lose a football game, usually near the end, when victory would seem like the easier option. Hibs have Hibsed it again.Dont dare say those words within earshot of Alan Stubbs. The Hibernian manager knows only too well that if his team dont Hibs it against Rangers and actually win the cup for the first time since 1902, then the phrase can be removed from the footy lexicon as quickly as it appeared there - and sports most enduring hoodoo will also have been ended. Hibernian were victorious the last time the sides met, defeating Rangers 3-2 at Easter Road Cup finals are usually decided by courage. The team that shows the most of it has a habit of winning. In recent years, though, theres been an additional influencing factor in finals.Since the introduction of the divisional play-offs by the old Scottish Football League, the three divisions below the Premiership have all completed their 36-game season some weeks before the top leagues 38-game campaign has ended. This has presented a problem for the lower-league sides: how to rest the players without letting them switch off. Sky Sports pundit Neil McCann is expecting the Scottish Cup final to be a tight match This years is the fifth final since 2006 that teams from outside the Premiership have featured. A decade ago, the then Division 2 winners Gretna lost on penalties to Hearts; since then Division One/Championship Queen of the South, Ross County and Falkirk have all tried to take the final step. All have failed, despite some having engineered some big cup shocks along the way.And that could be where Hibs have the edge in this unprecedented all-Championship final. Their season was extended beyond the end of Rangers campaign by their participation in the play-offs. The last competitive game for Stubbsy and co - one that ended in late defeat in the play-off semis against Falkirk - was just eight days before Hampden. Wallace: Time to deliver Lee Wallace will get the chance to lift his first major trophy as a Rangers player on Saturday... Rangers, on the other hand, havent played a game with anything riding on it since the Old Firm semi-final FIVE weeks ago! Mark Warburton will have had sleepless nights worrying about the after-effects of winning the title so early and the cold storage which followed it.Will Rangers be rested or ready? Will Hibs be sore or stimulated? Is momentum more powerful than inertia? Answering those questions with me in the studio will be a panel of multiple cup winners: Scotland manager (and Hibs fan!) Gordon Strachan, former Hibs and Rangers manager Alex McLeish and Skys Neil McCann, a five-time cup winner. Former Hibernian defender John Brownlie and former Rangers winger Willie Henderson look ahead to Saturdays Scottish Cup final Make sure you tune in from 2pm to enjoy the full live build-up from Hampden - well have exclusive interviews with the Rangers squad and management, Hibs and Scotland midfielder John McGinn tells us about his Hampden hopes and theres my sit-down with Alan Stubbs, a thought-provoking chat about how a cup final drugs test saved his life. So, years of adversity have given the Hibees and the Bluenoses a renewed hunger for success. Saturday May 21 will be the day the good times return - for one set of fans.  Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs says his side are determined to win the Scottish Cup final against Rangers Next season, Brendan Rodgers Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts will all invest to meet the changes in the landscape brought about by Rangers winning promotion. The fixtures for 2016/17 will be announced by the SPFL on Sky Sports News HQ on June 17, so the excitement starts early! Mark the date in your diary... Brendan certainly will!I was asked this week what my personal ambitions are and, without hesitating, I instinctively said: to be in the studio the night Scotland finally qualify for a major tournament! Scotlands World Cup qualifiers are live on Sky Sports next season. Thats something else to look forward to in what will be a outstanding season for the game here. The campaign which ends this weekend has been one in which more of the matches that mattered in Scotland have been live on Sky Sports and its been a pleasure and a privilege to cover them for you. WIMBLEDON -- British qualifier Marcus Willis went to sleep Tuesday night knowing he would play Roger Federer on Centre Court and thinking it just doesnt get any better than this. Then it did.Spitting rain caused officials to close the stadiums roof Wednesday morning, transforming Centre Court into a luminous, shimmering soap bubble in which serves and forehands echo like cannon fire in a Thunderdome. The indoor atmosphere helped Willis, who has a big serve. His riveting backstory made the crowd love him way beyond the mere fact of his being British. Even Federer loved Willis story, but that only helped to a point. Federer ultimately burst the teaching pros bubble with an entertaining 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 win that left everyone satisfied and feeling good about themselves.Given all the British have been through in recent days -- what with Brexit and the shocking beating the English soccer team suffered at the hands of Iceland -- that was quite an achievement. Credit Willis with a huge assist to Federer. When you win 17 Grand Slam tournaments, you get a feeling for special moments. As I was playing, I was thinking, This is definitely one of the matches Ill remember. Federer said. I start forgetting some, but this one will stand out because its that special -- and probably not going to happen again for me to play against a guy 770 [officially No. 772] in the world.Federer didnt begrudge a single hopeful voice raised in the underdogs cause.Im sure I got less support probably back in 1999 when I got the wild card on Court 8, lost in five sets, because nobody cared, Federer said. But Willis deserved more. He deserved more in the bigger moments. He played some great points. He fought hard. Great personality for a Centre Court like this.Willis is a roguish, self-deprecating 25-year-old who lives with his parents. (Living the life, he quipped the other day.) A droll, dont-worry-be-happy kind of guy, he was a promising junior who delivered mostly trouble and a poor attitude. On one occasion, it got him sent home early from a trip to Australia. He ultimately decided that training was too drainning. Superstar Canada Online. . He planned to migrate to Philadelphia, but then he met his current girlfriend, who convinced him to stay. When told his story sounds like the plot of the rom-com movie Wimbledon Willis said, Ive never seen it, really. Im not a massive film-watcher. Im quite fidgety.A few weeks ago, working a job at the Warwick Boat Club in Warwickshire earning about 40 bucks an hour, Willis founds out he was accepted as the last man into Wimbledon pre-qualifying. Seven matches later, he was looking across the net at the all-time mens Grand Slam singles champion. He described the experience as surreal.I did look up twice as I bounced the ball and saw Roger Federer, and thought, Oh, havent seen this before, Willis said.Willis says his own tennis ruination was partly because of his weakness for seeing off too many pints. But Willis got religious after wasting a few good years, and he showed enough class here to feel hopeful for the future.Against Federer, the first set was an education. For a journeyman, playing against the Swiss maestro is like having to watch a movie in fast forward. He makes you feel like youve got no time, Willis said. He puts a lot of balls on the court in big points. You cant leave the ball anywhere short or high. Its just gone. Hes just ridiculous.Once Willis shed his jitters and adjusted, though, his heavy serve and duplicitous lefty spins and dinks served him pretty well.He has a nice serve, Federer said. I struggled reading it, especially on the ad side. He was doing a great job of mixing that up. I believe he can make big strides. But then again, dont forget the challengers are brutal; so are the futures. When he gets stuck between 200 and 500, 600, 700, its a big step getting out of that.Such realistic concerns are best left for another time. On this gloomy day at Wimbledon, reformed slouch Marcus Willis brought a little magic into the life of everyone, including Roger Federer. And how many people can make that claim? ' ' '

I dont think its different from any other position. Obviously, that position gets the most notoriety, but we have to look at everything right now.Kelly said he will talk to the training staff to see who is available when putting together the teams game plan.He also said he has never been told by the front office not to play Kaepernick, who has received considerable attention for his protests involving the national anthem, noting that Kaepernick received snaps in Week 1 against the Rams, proving that isnt the case.He also credited Kaepernick for working hard to get back into playing shape after he was cleared to resume football activities in training camp. Jupp Heynckes is leaving Bayern Munich having set the bar for Pep Guardiola as high as the Wembley Stadium arch. In Englands national stadium Saturday, on the penultimate step of Heynckes farewell tour, the coach delivered Bayerns fifth European Cup with a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund. That comes after the Bundesliga trophy was already collected in a record-breaking league season, and Heynckes can sign out next Saturday by completing the treble in the German Cup final before stepping down. "FC Bayern will have to prove that they can continue to achieve these things but it is quite possible ... that a new era might have begun under the aegis of Bayern Munich," Heynckes said through a translator. An era of dominance, perhaps, to match the Bayern team that won a hat trick of European Cups between 1974 and 1976. Success in the first all-German Champions League final came a year after the tearful defeat on home soil to Chelsea. On a night of redemption, Arjen Robben, who missed a penalty in extra time in last years game, pounced with the winner in the 89th minute in London. "You dont want the stamp of a loser," Robben said. And it was Heynckes who picked up Bayern from its lowest ebb last May. "We didnt resign ourselves to our fate," Heynckes said. "No, we upped the ante and tried even harder. You have seen the result." Although Bayerns players were overwhelmed for much of the first half, they imposed their authority on their tiring rivals after the break. After Ilkay Gundogans penalty kick cancelled out Mario Mandzukics opener on the hour for Bayern, the energy in Heynckes side proved decisive as Robben ensured the European Cup would be returning to Bavaria for the first time since 2001. "We have been changing things, improving things, adapting things," Heynckes said. "We have team spirit, an ability to work together, which I have never experienced in the championship before, because we have 22, 23 top-class professionals ... all of whom played their weight. "Not one of them fell by the wayside. When you have such high calibre players thats pretty incredible. Thats the hallmark of our success: the ability to work together -- the collective." Heynckes wont be part of it for much longer. He leaves under bblurred circumstances, having distanced himself from the clubs claims that he planned to retire when Guardiolas services were secured in January for next season. Cheap Nike Baseball Jerseys. . But on Saturday, Heynckes said he had no regrets about handing over the reins, insisting that he had planned to stay just one more season after the Chelsea setback last May. Guardiola is ending a one-year sabbatical from football after turning Barcelona into the dominant team in Europe. Bayern shattered Barcelonas aura of invincibility, however, beating the Spanish team 7-0 on aggregate in the Champions League semifinals. And Heynckes sent out the message to Guardiola that everything at the club is primed for further success. "My successor will of course be able to take over a perfectly functioning team," Heynckes said. "We know Mario Goetze will be joining us and I dont think (striker Robert) Lewandowski will be hanging about too much either (at Dortmund)." Heynckes pointed to how the investment before the season in several players -- including defenders Dante and Javi Martinez, and striker Mario Mandzukic who all started tonight -- had paid off. "The players have been a bulls-eye success," Heynckes said. The 68-year-old German never mentioned his Spanish successor by name despite repeated questions referring to him after the final. But he was clear in outlining the challenge facing Guardiola at Bayern. "You have to lead a team, a group, and you have to be very sensitive, very tactful with very high-calibre footballers," Heynckes said. "Today with the environment, the media, the expectations, it is incredibly difficult." Saturdays win means Guardiolas first shot at a trophy with Bayern will be the UEFA SuperCup in August against Europa League winner Chelsea -- and a likely chance to renew his rivalry with Jose Mourinho. The outgoing Real Madrid coach is expected to return to Chelsea next month. But whats next for Heynckes? Former Bayern midfielder Michael Ballack thinks Heynckes still has much to offer in football -- and he will be in even greater demand after replicating his 1998 Champions League triumph with Real Madrid. "The Bundesliga is an option or Real Madrid, but it must be a special club otherwise it makes no sense," Ballack said at Wembley. ' ' '

Hes obviously very excited with the opportunity hes been given.Hes probably a little bit surprised with his selection in the team. Given the way that he played for the Raiders this year and how well their team went, a big reason why they played so well was because of his efforts.Im looking forward to seeing what he can do at this level.Expect an emotional Boyd when he runs onto nib Stadium at around 5pm local time on Saturday.I wasnt that emotional when Mal called me about being in the squad but I think I will be if I get to play, Boyd, who has played 67 games for the Raiders since 2014 and is yet to play State of Origin, said earlier this week.I am just so excited to be named in the 24-man squad. To be a chance of playing it is a lot more than what I thought I would achieve this year. Brett Kulak and Jackson Houck of the Vancouver Giants were each charged with assault causing bodily harm on Aug. 18, according to the B.C. court services. Womens boxing has long lived in the shadows of the sport. Its a cycle that begins and ends with television networks, a cycle that stems from a perception that the quality of female talent is thin. Yet, without the ability to sell womens fights on televised cards, the signing and developing of female fighters is rendered an unprofitable business for promoters. The opportunity for women to make a living fighting thus becomes virtually impossible ... and the cycle continues.Im a little embarrassed we havent gotten to it sooner, said Stephen Espinoza, executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports, about the networks plans to put womens fights back on its air. We aim to rectify that very quickly -- and not on a one-off basis but on a meaningful regular basis as well. While Showtime still hasnt promoted a fight since 2001, it plans to do so, and womens boxing will be televised Saturday, when Claressa Shields makes her professional debut on Saturday in a four-round super middleweight bout against Franchon Crews. It will air on ESPN3 on the freeview undercard of Sergey Kovalev and Andre Wards pay-per-view fight on HBO.Coupled with the previous strides made in 2016, it appears that a new era of womens boxing is dawning.Claressa Shields has dubbed this era as the reintroduction to womens boxing. The era took a giant step forward on Aug. 21 when Shields became the first American fighter, male or female, to defend an Olympic gold medal. That same day, Heather Hardy and Shelly Vincent became the first women to be featured on a Premier Boxing Champions?nationally televised undercard. Now, that era is primed to move ahead even further.Well aware of her role in what could be the surge needed to finally carry womens boxing from out of the shadows, Shields is preparing to make her professional debut on Saturday.Shields chose to begin her professional career rather than stay an amateur (and have the guarantee of eligibility to return to the Olympics in 2020) in part because of the potential the timing presented. At 21 years old, amid what already feels like a revolution in womens boxing, Shields is primed to take up the baton and carry the sport over the line it has come so close to crossing so many times.I dont want to let this flame burn out that we have right now, Shields said. You have to seize the moment and take advantage of it.Im not doing it for the money. Im doing it for womens boxing.Shields has marinated on this concept of being the change for some time. It was a primary reason behind her decision and a seed that was planted before she won her second gold medal in Rio de Janeiro, when she had a conversation with Hardy about the two fighters mutual hope for the future of their sport and the respect it deserves. The way Hardy understood it, Shields turning pro would send a message: This is what women do. Women fight. Women box.We werent just thinking about each other making millions of dollars; we were thinking about the other women coming up behind us, Shields said. This is a new era, and thats no disrespect to Christy Martin or Lucia Rijker or Laila [Ali]. But the women of this generation are just different. And me? Im one-of-a-kind. You only get one of me every century.New York-born and bred, Hardy used to dream about becoming a Yankee. As a child she would even envision herself running out of the bullpen at Yankee Stadium. She watched every game. She knew every stat. But little girls didnt play baseball.I remember feeling like I was sorry I liked it, she said. I was sorry I was a girl.Later in life, Hardy adopted a new dream: becoming a professional boxer. But as she transitioned out of the amateurs, she was confronted with a harsh reality: Women dont make much money fighting.A bunch of the girls who are pro [told me], Just know this isnt a life for you; this is a hobby because youll never make any money off of it, Hardy said. And 20 years later, I have that same feeling. Im sorry Im a girl.Hardy was the first woman to be signed to a long-term promotional contract with Lou DiBellas company, DiBella Entertainment. DiBella, one of New Yorks premier boxing promoters, has been one of the main actors at the forefront of the current revolution. In addition to Hardy, DiBella has signed deals with other prominent women fighters, including WBO featherweight champion Amanda Serrano and Hardys last opponent, Vincent. While DiBella said he doesnt make money off their fights, the fact that he puts on shows in New York and throughout New England means Hardy and the other female fighters in his stable who are from the area sell enough tickets to cover a good portion of the costs of their bouts. DiBella, who admits he was once hardened to the idea of women in the ring when he was an HBO executive, has said that promoting his female fighters has become a cause for him.I admire their dedication. I admire their spirit to want to bring about change, DiBella said. Id say a number of these women right now are not only out there as fighters; theyre out there as trailblazers, as advocates. Theyre trying to change the status quo, to be agents of change, so that other women coming fforward in the sport in the future have an easier road and an opportunity to make a living the same way men do. New Balance Ireland For Sale. .The difference between the money that male and female fighters can make fighting doesnt necessarily stem from a gap in fight purses -- in fact, according to DiBella, male and female fighters on the same card will generally make similar money for the same level of fight. The difference, then, is the fact that televised fights come with much bigger purses, and without opportunities to fight on televised cards, women simply dont have the option for bigger paydays. As DiBella put it, its a wage ceiling. While male fighters are going after that $100,000 payday -- the $50,000, $150,000 or $1 million payday -- those paydays dont exist for women because television has been closed to them, DiBella said.Female fighters with untelevised bouts thus become more reliant on whatever percentage of ticket sales they get, which can often mean more aggressive promotion of their own fights, spreading the word and hanging up posters to try to sell tickets.Hardy, a single mother, has considered taking MMA fights to help pay the bills, a proposition that recently became even more real when DiBella had to cancel the cards he had scheduled in New York through the end of the year because of a new provision that requires promoters in the state to secure $1 million of insurance per fighter in the event one suffers a traumatic brain injury. Unfortunately for Hardy, one of those events DiBella had to cancel was a show at Barclays Center on Dec. 16 that Hardy was supposed to fight on.As much as Id like to discourage her as a promoter from [moving to MMA], Im not going to because she has to do what she has to do to maximize her revenue streams, to take advantage of her popularity and to try to make a living for her and her daughter, DiBella said. I cant fault her for needing a supplemental income. Its worth noting that while DiBella has signed some of the best female talent in the United States, his stable is missing the biggest star in Shields, who told ESPN in September before announcing her pro debut that the only company she wanted to sign with was Oscar De La Hoyas Golden Boy Promotions. However, Shields agent said she has yet to make any decisions regarding a promoter as of this week.DiBellas investment could turn out to be a gamble that pays off if the status quo changes. The current pool of female talent is ripe for a chance at the big time, with fighters on the rise from coast to coast. Even across the pond, where womens boxing is already more prominently televised, 13-year Irish amateur and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Katie Taylor has too decided to turn professional. The skill level and talent base is all there, Espinoza said. Its just a matter of providing the opportunity.Espinoza wants Showtime to provide that opportunity. The five-year executive said that putting female fights back on the networks airwaves has been on its to-do list for some time, and that he hopes to get one on a card in the first quarter of 2017.Espinoza and DiBella have elevated conversations even further, with pretty extensive discussions about the prospect of an all-female card sometime next year. DiBella said that that type of card would ideally feature a Hardy-Vincent rematch, possibly even for a world title, if Hardy ends up fighting for one in March, as DiBella suggested she might. An all-womens card is certainly an ambitious goal, considering it likely would require the cooperation of various promoters, but Espinoza doesnt consider it insurmountable. If we can be the unifying force to bring this aboard, wed be happy to, he saidThe concept of elevating womens presence in combat sports by making opportunities possible isnt new for Showtime. Ronda Rousey fought her final three Strikeforce fights before signing with Dana White and the UFC in 2012, and those bouts aired on Showtime. Other female mixed martial arts stars such as Gina Carano, Cris Cyborg Justino and Miesha Tate also came up through Strikeforce before making the same jump. When you look at the business opportunity, which has been demonstrated in MMA, you cant really argue that the market isnt ready or the audience isnt ready, Espinoza said. The momentum that peaked in August, with Shields Olympic win and Hardy and Vincents televised bout, is palpable and has continued to pick up steam. For women in the sport, its a fight for their livelihood and for equality in the ring, present and future. If my daughter wanted to box, I would never be like, Yeah, you should work for that, Vincent said. Before I wouldve said, No, youre never going to get anywhere. Theyre never going to accept you. Youre never going to make any money. But now I would say there is hope, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That light is primed to grow brighter again on Saturday, when Shields steps into the ring at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.Just tell everybody this is the reintroduction to womens boxing, Shields said. Thank me later. ' ' '

Having concluded their one-day encounters on Monday, New Zealand and Australia will renew rivalries in the Test arena on Friday, in the first game of a two-Test series. Cheap Yeezy 350 Ireland For Sale . The Black Caps will be aiming to add the Trans-Tasman Trophy - a crown they have been unable to claim since losing to the Baggy Greens in 1993-94 - to the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy they retained by beating their rivals 2-1 in the one-day series.Australia have dominated their recent five-day tussles with the Kiwis, winning 18 and losing just one of the sides previous 26 meetings either home or away.To see if New Zealand can end that hoodoo is reason enough to watch the series live on Sky Sports, but when you chuck in the fact that some of the finest batsmen on the planet will be in action - one of them for the final time - then youd be mad not to tune in…Reason #1 - Three of the top-five ranked batsman are on showAustralia captain Steve Smith is at the summit of the Test standings, his rating of 899 placing him 10 points ahead of Englands Joe Root and the man he will meet in this series, New Zealands unflappable No3 - and probable captain -elect, Kane Williamson. Smiths vice-captain, David Warner, meanwhile, is two spots further back, marginally in arrears of South Africas Hashim Amla. Kane Williamson has stroked 13 hundreds in 46 Tests Smiths stats over the last two years have been sensational, the right-hander averaging more than 81 in nine Tests in 2014 and over 73 in 13 Tests in 2015, with 11 hundreds added into the mix in that time. Williamson racked up 1,172 runs in just eight games in 2015 at an average in excess of 90, while Warner plundered three successive centuries in the reverse series with the Black Caps earlier this winter, taking his career average versus New Zealand to a ludicrous 93.12 from five games.Reason #2 - McCullums last standArguably one the modern games most destructive batsman as well as its most innovative and effective captain, McCullum will quit the international scene after the second Test against Australia, his 101st in a white flannel. Plenty of the 34-year-olds pyrotechnics have come in the limited-over formats - who can forget the way he marmalised Englands attack, Steve Finn, in particular, with 77 from 25 balls in the 2015 World Cup? - but his swashbuckling style has also been evident in Tests. Nasser Hussain and Nick Knight discuss the impact Brendon McCullum has had on the international game as he prepares for retirement McCullum has played a number of bruising knocks, including 202 from just 188 balls against Pakistan in Sharjah and a staggering 195 from 134 against Sri Lanka in Christchurch, both of those efforts containing a whopping 11 sixes. New Zealand have also prospered under his leadership, playing a breathtaking brand of cricket that England, for one, seem to have followed, with the Black Caps now unbeaten at home since they were pipped by South Africa in 2011-12. McCullum shall be missed.Reason #3 - Youll see how strong Australias pace reserves areMitchell Johnson is swinging to the left and right no longer in international cricket having retired partway through the home clash with New Zealand, while Mitchell Starc - who bowled close to 100 miles per hour against the Black Caps in Perth in November, as well as taking 13 wickets across the series - is another absentee as he recovers from ankle surgery. Australia seamer Chadd Sayers could win his first cap against New Zealand Uncapped Chadd Sayers, a 28-year-old right-armer with 148 first-class scalps in 39 matches and a best of 6-34, has been drafted in to the squad, alongside Jackson Bird and James Pattinson, two players just as familiar with the inside of the treatment room as the cricket pitch following sustained injury sabbaticals. Talented they may be but Australia will probably need the dogged and metronomic Josh Hazlewood and Peter Siddle to do the grunt work.Reason #4 - The last series was brilliantThe three-Test series on Australian soil a few months back produced some scintillating cricket. Warner biffed centuries in each innings of the opener in Brisbane - becoming only the third batsman to do that on three occasions in a Test, after Sunil Gavaskar and countryman Ricky Ponting - while Joe Burns and the in-form Usman Khawaja nailed maiden Test tons for Australia as the hosts secured a comfortable 208-run triumph, despite Williamson plundering 140. Adelaide Oval heled the first day-night Test in November Game two at the WACA was a drawn run-fest, with Warner blasting a maiden double hundred and New Zealands Ross Taylor a second, while Williamson, Smith, Khawaja and Australia veteran Adam Voges scored centuries, keeping things interesting for the inaugural day-night Test in Adelaide. Sceptics of the idea were quickly silenced as in front of some beautiful South Australia sunsets, not to mention huge crowds, the Baggy Greens won a thrilling, bowler-dominated encounter by three wickets on the third evening, with Siddle and a limping Starc dragging their side over the line and to a 2-0 series victory.Watch New Zealand and Australias Test series on Sky Sports, starting with the opener, in Wellington, from 9.25pm, Thursday, Sky Sports 3. Eddie Betts didnt think hed play more than 50 AFL games when he debuted in 2005.More than a decade later, the Adelaide livewire admits hes pinching himself as he prepares to line up for his 250th.Betts has firmed for All-Australian selection for a second consecutive year after booting 60 goals, many from what adoring Crows fans have dubbed the Eddie Betts pocket at Adelaide Oval. Its a far cry from his troubled years at Carlton where he struggled for consistency and was arrested in 2009 for being drunk in public following a Christmas party.Personally I didnt think Id play more than 50 games, Betts said ahead of the Crows clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday.Im very proud of where Ive come from and to make 250 games is amazing. While his three seasons with Adelaide have been arguably the most productive in his career, Betts says the move to West Lakes at the end of 2013 was far from easy to make.It was partly driven by family reasons and particularly tough on his wife, who had to leave relatives, friends and her job behind.. When I made the decision to leave Carlton, I went home and I cried for three hours, Betts said on Wednesday.I sat on the bed and I said to myself, Am I making the right choice? After that day finished we just had to move on (and) get over it.I thought it would take a while for the crowd to embrace me but we got over here and since day one they embraced me, the footy club embraced me, the players.Betts looks back on his first game with Carlton as a nervous 18-year-old and says he still feels the same nerves every time he runs out on the ground. But he says there was a moment in his first season with Adelaide in 2014 when he knew Crows fans had truly accepted him as one of their own.I think it was the (round 15) game when we beat Port Adelaide, Betts said.It was a close game and I kicked a couple of goals down in the pocket and they ended up chanting and cheering.I never expected it. ORLANDO, Fla. air max 1 kaufen schweiz . -- Orlando City president Phil Rawlins wanted someone who fulfilled some important criteria when looking for a new coach 10 days ago.He wanted a proven American coach, who understood the MLS and had a track record for developing young talent. That led Rawlins and the Orlando City board to Jason Kreis, who was hired Tuesday and introduced on Wednesday as the Lions new coach. The 43-year-old Kreis, a one-time MLS star, comes to Orlando after short stint with New York City FC last year. But he made his coaching mark with Real Salt Lake, leading the club to two MLS Cup appearances while compiling an 111-87-69 record in seven seasons.Im delighted to say that Jason checks all of those boxes, Rawlins said. We have a coach who knows how to win in MLS, who has won a MLS Cup. All and all a great track record. He is a young and ambitious coach and as organization we are delighted to have him.Kreis takes over an underachieving Orlando City club that fired its coach, Adrian Heath, earlier this month and is 4-5-10 and in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Kreis and his assistants, Miles Joseph and C.J. Brown take over the club on Monday. There are some pieces here that are incredibly exciting to build around, Kreis said. There are some leaders in this group that should be able to be the backbone of this club. Its an exciting prospect that I think as we look toward the future we will be able to help turn this club into a consistently successful and consistently competing club. But I do not think, and I want to be clear about this, I do not think that has to happen overnight. günstig nike air max store .
